    Utah C/C++ User Group?

    Does anybody know if a Utah C/C++ user group exists? I'm looking for a way to better my skills in the non-.NET realm of C/C++. Nathan

    Good question, I've wondered about that myself as I've been doing some cross-platform dev that needs C++ work. If you get a lead on a group please let me know.

    I will in deed. It would make sense there would be. So far the only clue I have of any such group is that the University of Utah sort of hosted one with their students at one time. But I couldn't find very muc information and I think the threads were from 1993.

    I've registered http://utahcppug.org (Utah C Plus Plus User Group)- It'll take me a few days to transfer it over to my personal host from my employer's host - but I'll setup a forum on it - and you guys are welcome to run it because I just don't have the time now.

    Utah C/C++ User Group

    In 1983 Richard Stallman started the GNU Project with the goal of creating a UNIX-like, POSIX-compatible operating system composed entirely of free software. Development began in 1984, and a year later he created the Free Software Foundation and wrote the first draft of the GNU General Public License (GPLv1). By the early 1990s, the project had produced or collected many necessary operating system components, including libraries, compilers, text editors, and a Unix shell, and the mid-level portions of the OS were almost complete. The upper level could be supplied by the X Window System. ---------------------------------- althea Utah Treatment Centers

    Well if that doesn't work out I created a Google Group named UCUG (Utah C/C++ Users Group) located at http://groups.google.com/group/ucug. I haven't announced it yet because I didn't know anybody off-hand who would want to be part of it. I also own USEG (Utah Science and Engineering Group) located at http://groups.google.com/group/useg which is meant to be a more global group for discussing Mathematics and Engineering-related subjects. Kind of like a high level to programing in many ways. I wasn't able to get to http://utahcppug.org - I think I just timed out.
