Description
The New Software Technology Engineer will work as a member of the Information Technology Team at SeamlessWeb, a division of ARAMARK Corporation, and is a band 6 (senior level) position reporting directly to the Vice President of Information Technology.
The new software technology engineer is responsible for researching and becoming familiar with new software technologies in the industry and reporting on those to management. The position implements proof of concept or pilot applications utilizing selected new technologies and when value is found demonstrates and advocates with IT leadership. The position researches ways that technologies can be integrated into our existing solution framework by adding to or replacing existing technologies. The position also works on short term high priority/high impact development related projects defined by executive management. SeamlessWeb aggressively pursues the latest in technology to meet our demanding growth and customers. This new team member will be essential in our passionate pursuit of meeting these needs, and will work closely with senior team members, and may coordinate this work with others throughout the enterprise and with clients.
Qualifications
The candidate should have at least 5 years of professional development experience, of least 3 of which must include n-Tier object oriented experience in .Net (preferably C#) or Java with a web UI. Experience with SQL is also required. Self motivation and an ability to work independently or in a team environment are key. An ability to learn new technologies and methodologies quickly is essential. The position will have some direct client interaction where fluency in English is required. A bachelor’s degree in a technical field would be a plus, as would experience with an MVC framework such as Maverick or Struts. The candidate must be able to switch between multiple projects and tasks quickly and efficiently.
